Thinking in black and white. I prefer to shoot nature and landscapes more than anything else. People and portraits were at the bottom of my favorite things to shoot list With photography only becoming a true preoccupation for me this past year I think this is the shot where several things all clicked in my head all at once and a fantastic image was made. My model here is my better half Catie, she is naturally photogenic and easy to work with. As we were taking this series of shots in the kitchen one night a few months ago this particular shot was the one where all the elements of composition, light, apeture and exposure all came together for me. Since then I am finding myself noticing moments and people in time and place that jump out at me and scream “this will make a great shot!”
Another fantastic shot of Mrs. Catie (lost in the black hole of photos from august) in all of her awesomeness. Someone told me the other day (in a very complementary and respectful way of course) that “she is soooo beautiful, I mean really really beautiful, and you are pretty lucky”. I would have to agree. I am.

A fantastic portrait of Mrs. Catie. My love and my life. I am truly a lucky man and humbled on a regular basis. I think there are times when she doesn’t understand how much I love and cherish her. My friend and partner in life as we have most certainly experienced just about every curve ball life can throw at you along the way. At times I have found myself not appreciating her enough or making stupid mistakes that can be the most common pitfalls for all of us. I truly love this woman with all of myself and everything that I am, she makes me whole ..and leaves me wanting to be a better person. Even in the hardest of times it only takes but a minute for me to see only love and beauty and I am speechless..

Selective coloring, Coffee? , naa… I was more distracted thinking about other things with this one. Three of my favorite things, they all start with C, and all in one frame!..
